Introduction - Interior Design Ideas
USG Powerscape products have advanced features with the power to transform interior design- and through this the living experience for building occupiers. Various examples of these are featured below.

Alcoves
USG Powerscape Health linings for luxury homes and apartments are ideal for the construction of either small or larger alcoves. The ability for the material to be machined and adhesively bonded make the construction process straight forward, and allow a high standard of finish to be achieved.

1. Before the USG Powerscape Health wall lining is fixed to the studs simply mark the desired position and size of the alcove on the back of the lining making sure that this does not conflict with framing placement or other services in the wall cavity.
2. If the alcove is deeper than a normal wall depth, or will carry a load, then also include frame support under the base of the alcove.
3. Then bond strips of USG Powerscape Health (cut to the desired alcove depth) to the reverse face of the USG Powerscape Health wall lining. Polyurethane adhesive is particularly suitable.
   
   
   
   
4. Also bond a back face for the alcove, either using USG Powerscape Health, or for a thinner backing a piece of USG Powerscape Go-Between (6.7mm thick).
5. When the adhesive is fully dry rout out from the front the piece of wall lining to be removed using the alcove sides as an accurate guide for the router.
6. Several coats of undercoat and sanding may be needed to achieve a quality finish on the routed surface.

3d Surface Texturing
USG Powerscape Health wall and ceiling linings for luxury homes and apartments are able to be machined with detailing lines. This capability also exists with Powerscape Health.
This means that now gypsum based monolithic surfaces can feature detailing groves to focus attention, define space, or to provide highlighting.
